Lewis Carroll not only
gave the world the most renowned seven-year-old in literature, he is probably
considered the greatest of English nonsense writers. Yet the meaning of Carroll's literary works is anything but nonsense. In Alice, Carroll created a character who grows up addressing the complex nature
of reality through philosophy, logic, religion—and the arts.
At Darlington, we believe
that the arts in any form and at any level provide enrichment,
joy, and growth in the lives of the participants.
From the pre-schooler at Summer Arts Camp to the eighteen-year-old
on the road to Juilliard, from the business professional realizing the joys of watercolors to a parent creating tiles with a child, Darlington offers myriad opportunities for discovery and mastery in music, art, dance, and drama. The arts, as Carroll
would say, are "larger than life and twice as natural."
On behalf of all of us at Darlington, I invite you to experience
the wonderland of the arts. Come to Darlington. Join the Dance.
