Fitness

To complement Darlington’s arts curriculum, we offer several classes in fitness to encourage physical activity, from flexibility, strength and endurance to balance, re-shaping and meditation.  Classes are offered for a wide range of experience and ages.

Subjects Darlington usually offers are Karate, Yoga, Core Conditioning, and Cardio classes.

 Fitness Facts

  • When you are hungry in between meals, try a glass of water before you snack to make sure that your body is actually hungry and not just thirsty.
  • Yoga increases, strength, flexibility, and balance.
  • Exercising the proper way makes all the difference when re-shaping your body!  Meet with a personal trainer a few times before working-out on your own. 
  • Yoga calms the mind.
  • Pull your belly button towards your spine during abdominal exercises – not out.  Your waist will thank you for it!
  • Yoga is appropriate for all fitness levels.
  • Add cardio intervals to add a little fat-burning to your workout.
  • Breathing exercises and meditation lower stress.
  • To effectively and safely stretch your muscles, hold the stretch AT LEAST 30-60 seconds.  You will gain flexibility and prevent future injury.
