Darlington provides professional music instruction to students of all ages, instruments, and skill levels. Whether you are an aspiring professional musician or studying for personal enrichment, there is a welcome place for you in one or more of Darlington music classes or private lessons.
 

Private Music Lessons
Private Music lessons are available for piano, voice, violin, viola, cello, trumpet, saxophone, flute, clarinet, trombone, tuba, guitar (rock, folk, jazz, classical), banjo, euphonium, ukulele, oboe, French horn, and drums/percussion.  All students enrolled in private music lessons at Darlington are eligible to enroll in the Music Theory Class of their skill level for free.  Request more information about private lessons here.
 

Suzuki Music Program
The Suzuki method of learning to play the violin is based on the ideas of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. He believed every child has an innate musical talent and music is best learned in the same way that a native language is learned.  Darlington offers Private Suzuki Flute instruction, Private Suzuki Piano instruction, and our full Suzuki Violin Program.
 

Music Theory Classes
Darlington offers music theory classes to supplement the student’s musical education.  Note-reading, notation, rhythmic exercises, sight-singing and ear training will be covered.  Classes are free for students currently enrolled in private music lessons. Classes include: Building Blocks of Music Theory (beginners), Nuts & Bolts of Music Theory (intermediate) and Advanced Music Theory.
 

ACMP Scholarship Chamber Music Program
Initiated through a grant from the Amateur Chamber Music Players Foundation with additional funding from the Presser Foundation, compatible groups are formed by audition for winds, brass, strings and keyboards.  All interested musicians of all ages can sign up as a group or as an individual. Coaching is performed by Darlington teaching artists and guest coaches.
