Summer Arts Camp

2010 American Road Trip!

Hit the road this summer with Darlington’s teaching artists for a road trip adventure through the arts of America! Explore the diversity within our own borders and learn about geographical styles of music, dance, art and theater. Following years of Darlington’s wildly successful International Summer Arts Camp, 2010′s “American Road Trip” will raise awareness of the various cultures within the “melting pot” that is our own country, and our connections around the globe. Expand your understanding of America’s cities and regions through artistic exploration.

Through lessons, games and projects taught by professional visual artists, musicians, dancers and actors, students will “travel” to places both familiar and unknown across the country, and expand their understanding of America’s cities and regions through artistic exploration.

The campers will be divided into groups by age
      – Preschool Half Day   (ages 3-5)
      – Full Day Session      (ages 5-7 & 8-12)
      – Half Day Session      (ages 6-9)
      – Teen Full Day          (ages 13-16; only available 2 weeks)

Elementary, Pre-Teen & Teen Full Day Arts Camps are daily, Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm.
The Half Day Arts Camp is daily, Monday-Friday, 12:30-3pm.

Preschool Arts Camp is in the morning, 9:30am-noon, and has three choices each week:
      – 3 days a week:  Monday, Wednesday & Friday
      – 2 days a week:  Tuesday & Thursday
      – 5 days a week:  Monday-Friday
All Preschoolers MUST be potty-trained!

An Extended Day is available for all ages
      – Pre-Camp Care for Full Day Camp is 8-9am  ($12/day)
      – Pre-Camp Care for Preschool is 8-9:30am  ($15/day)
      – Lunch Bunch for Half Day Camp is 11:30am-12:30pm  ($8/day; bring your lunch)
      – Lunch Bunch for Preschool is Noon-1pm  ($8/day; bring your lunch)
      – After-Camp Care for Full or Half Day is 3-5pm  ($12/day)
Earlier or later arrangements available; price to be determined.
