Each day the campers experience music, visual arts, dance and drama through projects related to the region of America of that week’s theme. All instructors are professionals in their arts specialty.
June 21 – 25: Peace & Music: Woodstock, NY
It’s 1969 and we’re about to join the biggest arts festival of all time. Bring your creativity and get ready to express yourself through music, art, dance and acting.

June 28 – July 2: Colonial New England
It’s time to cool off up north and prepare to celebrate the 4th of July! Immerse yourself in early American songs and the English-inspired culture of contra-dance, while exploring the many popular handcrafts of New England.
July 5 – 9: Red Rock Country and the Great Southwest
The heat is on as we travel through America’s big Southwest! Join the Navajos and Pueblos to learn about regional arts, music, dance and folklore.
July 12 – 16: Hiking the Appalachian Trail
Hike up the Appalachian Trail and discover its culture and history. Hear the bluegrass, learn Appalachian stepping, and make some beautiful handcrafts!
July 19 – 23: New York, New York
Head into the Big Apple for a Big City experience! Hit the stage and learn the lines and songs of major Broadway hits, learn some hip hop moves and spend a day in Andy Warhol’s Factory.

July 26 – 30: Southern Heritage
Kick back and relax while learning square-dancing, enjoying country music, and exploring the southern folk art of Jasper Johns and others.
August 2 – 6: The Windy City of Chicago
It’s time to get all jazzed up for a week in the spotlight of the windy city! The arts in Chicago, “The Second City,” are larger than life, so get ready to think big!
August 9 – 13: The Jazzy Style of New Orleans
Explore the vibrant streets of the French Quarter of New Orleans and construct your own building! Join in the Cajun songs and dances and design your own Mardi Gras masks.
August 16 – 20: Cruising the Pacific Coast Highway
Discover some West Coast culture as we head up and down the scenic PCH. Star in a Hollywood performance and try some West Coast Swing, then head north to learn about ska and grunge music and popular artists such as glass-maker Dale Chihuly!
June 28 – July 1: Trumpeting the Right Way
Learn the ins and outs of good trumpeting: breath, embouchure, fingering, note reading skills, etc. Pre-requisite: at least 1 year of private trumpet instruction.

August 23 – 27: Dance Boot Camp
Come explore, learn and exercise in this week-long intensive dance camp! Whether you want to make some serious progress in your dance abilities, sample several styles before choosing a fall class, or simply get in shape before going back to school, this camp will cover it all. Work with Darlington’s multiple instructors to explore several styles, including ballet, hip hop, jazz and modern. Through exercises, instruction and videos, you are sure to improve your dance skills!
Ages 7-13; Full Day (9am-3pm); $270
August 23 – 27: Art Intensive Camp
Stretch your creativity in this week-long Art Intensive camp! Explore styles to find your strengths, through media such as paint, graphite, clay, pastels and mixed media. Students will learn about artists and styles as they work on their own creations, improve technique and learn ways to confidently express themselves.
Ages 7-13; Full Day (9am-3pm); $270
August 23 – 27: Strings Camp
This strings camp will prepare students for the rewarding experience of playing as a group, listening to each other, and audition prep – all aspects of being a member of an orchestra or chamber music ensemble.
Ages 8-12; 3:30-5:30pm; $140
