Darlington's music students perform for family & friends.

Alyce Grunt's paintings will be on display at Darlington for the month of March.

Renowned choreographer, Samuel Reyes, will guide students through age-appropriate hip-hop basics to enhance their rhythm, coordination and performance ability. Students will learn about the roots and history of hip hop, while being challenged to master new moves and vigorous combinations. Reyes got his start touring with Raven Simon and has taught throughout Philadelphia and New York including Koresh Dance Studio and Walnut Street Theatre. He choreographs for his own theater production company, SABROOKA, which performs across the U.S. He has also worked with theater companies such as Prince Music Theatre, Walnut Street Theatre’s Educational Department, 11th Hour Theater Co., Luna Theater, Media Theater and more. He currently teaches at Temple University and Muhlenberg College.

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

Attention girls! Have you thought about trying out for a dance team? Learn what is involved in the audition process and what a dance team is all about. Develop an audition-style routine incorporating the genres of jazz, pompon, and hip hop. Experience what a real tryout is like, and have your specific dance team questions answered. This is a great opportunity to prepare for an upcoming audition!

With the use of a live model, aspiring designers learn how to draw the figure by following an instructional breakdown of the human form and practicing gesture sketches. The model will start in black tights and body suit to allow a clear understanding of the structure of the figure, adding skirts and scarves to practice drawing fabric draping and the flow of a garment.

The Belfast Connection is a three-piece band featuring the fiddle, mandolin and upright bass. Formerly of local Irish band Paddy's Well, Belfast Connection's Frank Reed, Laine Walker and Joe Hughes infuse each performance with energy as they tell the story of Ireland and her people. The band performs a wide collection of well-known Irish pub songs and ballads and their folk and country influences highlight their versatility and musicianship. Their show will invite you to sing along!

Part of Darlington's "Arts Experience" series, this section can be taken in conjunction with the other classes (visual art, drama, dance) or by itself. Instruction will include singing, playing tone bar and percussive instruments.
