Join Darlington’s Volunteer Team! There is much to be done and extra hands are always needed and appreciated. Essential assistance is supplied by our parents, students, and community members, who offer their time and expertise to assist with performances, educational programming and special events. Teens are welcome to join us in the fulfillment of their community service hours.
Be a part of the arts by volunteering at Darlington! Adults and mature teens are needed for short term and long term volunteer projects. Why sit and wait when you can help the community? If you have at least 2 hours per week – we need you.

Arts Education Interns
Art / Music / Drama / Dance
The Darlington Arts Center is seeking interns to assist with its preschool & kindergarten arts program, classes and workshops, and its Cultural Summer Arts Camps. Interns are needed within each of Darlington’s four arts disciplines: art, music, dance and drama. These interns will work directly with a Teaching Artist, assisting with set-up and clean-up, helping students with their projects and activities, while gaining valuable classroom experience.
Applicants interested in working with the Cultural Summer Arts Camp should be available from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, although actual hours worked will depend on camp enrollment. Applicants may apply for any or all weeks, but must be available for the entire week for which they request.
Applicants should have a high school diploma and be pursuing a degree in arts education or any of the four arts practiced at Darlington. Interns must have a good attitude, work well with children and be able to work comfortably with a professional Teaching Artist. Applicants will be required to complete a criminal record check.
Internships are unpaid; contact us regarding college credit.

Special Events Intern: Spring 2019
Darlington Arts Center, a non-profit center for the visual and performing arts, is seeking an individual to help with special events this Winter/Spring. Gain hands-on experience in a variety of administrative and artistic activities working alongside staff members in a creative, friendly environment.
Interns will have the opportunity to work on a number of projects related to executing a Fundraising Event featuring a live and silent auction and a Performing Arts Festival including music and dance recitals. Applicants should be available for at least 3 hrs per week from January 31 through March 15 and for at least 5 hrs per week from March 15-June 12.
The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in event planning, a performance-related field, or arts administration, and meet the following qualifications:
- Interest in the performing arts and events
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Graphic Design experience is helpful
Internships are unpaid, but interns are eligible to take free classes in the Winter/Spring semester. Contact us regarding college credit. Interns are required to submit a PA Child Abuse Clearance, dated within one year.
