Thursday, May 9 promises to be a memorable evening as this year our annual gala  “A Toast to the Arts” returns to the Darlington Campus during our 40th Anniversary making this a celebration under the stars. Patrons of the arts and members of the Darlington Arts Center will enjoy our annual celebratory event. It features gourmet food, wine, and live music coupled with fine student performances that promise to captivate and entertain all in attendance. This arts fête runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and includes a silent auction that serves as the primary fundraising event for Darlington Arts Center. Keep your attention peeled for upcoming announcements and the arrival of invitations. The public and all members of the Darlington community are welcome to attend.  This is a must attend event! This year DAC is honoring Teaching Artist Lingchin Liao with the Teaching Excellence Award for her many years serving music students at Darlington and DAC Board of Directors President Ann Anthony with the Arts Service Award for her superb guidance and leadership during her stewardship as President of the Board of Trustees at Darlington. 

Lingchin Liao is a longstanding and beloved string music Teaching Artist at Darlington. She received an M.M. and Professional Studies in Violin Performance, Temple University and B.M. National Taiwan Normal University. She studied violin with Helen Kwalwasser and has additional training in Suzuki violin at Gordon Institute for Music Learning Theory. Her orchestral experience includes the Haddonfield Symphony Orchestra, Taipei City Symphony Orchestra and her Teaching experience includes The Music School of Delaware, Cairn University, Temple University Music Prep, and Trevose Day School.

Ann T. Anthony serves as President of the Darlington Arts Center Board of Directors. Ann is an accomplished senior executive with deep financial and leadership experience. In her career, she is Vice President & Treasurer with South Jersey Industries, Inc. She has delivered outstanding results for leading global, national, and regional companies in the energy and manufacturing industries. Ann’s involvement and support for the arts coupled with leadership acumen have been paramount in the Art Center’s success during her tenure.
