Put that Instagram app away for the day and increase your resolution to take high-resolution pictures! Take the time to become familiar with the modes and functions of your digital SLR camera. This lecture will cover the different lenses available as well as digital workflow, color management, lighting techniques and external flashes. Bring your DSLR camera. Laptop and extra equipment will be provided by the instructor.

Friday, March 8 – Fashion Illustration Workshop – Ballet Edition
6:00 – 8:00pm
Our popular fashion illustration workshop with Annette Alessi returns, this time with a special ballerina model! She will start in black tights and body suit to allow a clear understanding of the structure of the figure and add additional garments so that young artists can practice drawing gesture sketches. Bring a large drawing pad and a table easel, if you have them.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with your friends and family at Darlington! The Irish Folk trio returns for an evening of rousing pub songs and ballads that tell the story of Ireland and her people while inviting you to sing along. Introduce your kids to the many instruments used in Irish folk music, or enjoy a festive night out with the adult crowd (BYOB – we’ll have corkscrew, coffee, tea, and snacks to enjoy). Saturday, March 9 – Portrait Study Tips and Techniques

Do you have trouble making faces look “alive” in your artwork? Is it difficult to convey the emotion you intend? For students with basic understanding of drawing, this workshop will break down many aspects of portraiture including facial structure, proportion and expressions. Students will work from a live model, and may bring photographs if they like. Artists working in all drawing and painting media welcome, as well as clay. Bring your own supplies.
For adults, $30 + model fee (split among participants in class). Register now!
