Darlington with Heritage Theatre Guild proudly presents History Alive! Life Stories of Famous American Women: The extraordinary life of Louisa May Alcott at Darlington on Sunday, Nov 20, 3pm. This is a unique opportunity to “meet” Louisa May Alcott, the author of Little Women, a Civil War Nurse & Reformer, in an intimate setting. $10 general admission.
Enjoy this one-woman play with actor, historian, and Darlington Teaching Artist, Pat Jordan, as Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888). Explore the time in which she lived, when America’s views on education, philosophy and human rights were radically changing. Learn about her struggles and successes, her eccentric father and hard-working mother, and about the sisters who inspired Louisa’s most famous work, Little Women. Performance will conclude with a Question & Answer session. Experience History through the power of First-Person Performance!
