Join us for a special Preschool Open House on Thursday, November 8 at 11am, as we host NYC author Ariela Rossberg for a reading from her debut children’s book “The Gray Days.” All pre-school aged children and their parents are invited to attend!
This debut storybook chronicles a child’s journey to rediscovering imagination in a place where it no longer exists and features original illustrations by second and third grade students of the Oaks School in New York. Ariela released this first exciting book in September and joins us as part of her regional tour.
“We live in a time where technology seems to run our lives and there is such a heavy reliance on our gadgets so we neglect our own creativity and imaginations,” she says. “Our imaginations need to be nourished and we can’t rely on our gadgets or the ability to create and imagine will be taken away from us.”
Stick around after the book reading for a tour of our preschool!
Darlington’s preschool program uniquely exposes young learners ages 3-5 to music, art, dance, and drama. We emphasize creativity, imagination, exploration, and active participation, helping students develop critical comprehension and memory skills. Students benefit from multi-week units of core curriculum developed by a certified teacher, traditional preschool activities including circle time and outdoor play, high-quality arts-based learning activities with professional Teaching Artists, and learning responsibility and cooperation by working with peers.
Registration for the Winter/Spring semester begins November 15th! Choose from 1, 2, 3, or 4 days a week (Mon – Thurs), from 9am – 12pm. Semester starts January 28th.
