Drama Classes - Summer 2025
Let your creativity take center stage! At Darlington, Drama students explore their imagination, gain skills and have fun. Our experienced, supportive teaching artists will help you or your child discover the actor within you and gain confidence. Classes focus on the process of acting, improvisation, or musical theatre, and performances are presented at the end of each session for family and friends.
A Play in a Day workshops are offered throughout the year. Students will create an original play or musical, create sets and costumes, and perform in front of their family and friends all in one day!
Because we are a member-supported center for the arts, a non-refundable Family Membership of $75, valid from September 1 through August 31, is required to enroll in all activities (exceptions are noted and include all workshops) and will be pro-rated to $40 for activities beginning after March 1. The Family Membership may be tax-deductible and allows Darlington to maintain facilities, provide excellent administration, care for our instruments and studios, and fulfill our mission to provide Every Art for Everyone.
Kids
Darlington Adventurer's Guild, Little Mice on a Big Adventure: All Levels
Ages: 8-13, Tuesdays, 5:00pm-7:00pm
Pack a torch, a map, and some cheese as you set out from your village in search of magic, adventure, and delicious berries the size of your head! In this class we will be playing Mausritter, a tabletop roleplaying game about mice who have built a little village for themselves, but need to journey into the wilderness to gather supplies. On their great adventure, they will dodge snakes the size of dragons, bargain with cats and fairies for safe passage through the countryside, and unearth lost secrets guarded by dour toads, all before scampering home to safety. Mausritter is the 2021 ENNIE Award Winner for Best Family Game, and features both dungeon-crawl and hex-crawl style adventures, with light but powerful mechanics that are a breeze for newcomers to the hobby to pick up, while still posing thrilling strategic questions to experienced gamers.
