Darlington is pleased to present accomplished flutist Adeline Tomasone teaching a Flute Masterclass on Saturday, January 22nd at 2pm. With general admission only $10 this is an excellent way to learn in a group setting from this wonderful musician.
Flutist Adeline Tomasone has been Assistant Professor of Flute at Rowan University since 1983. She made her debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra when she was just twelve years old, and at the age of seventeen, entered the Curtis Institute of Music. Upon graduation, she was appointed to her first university level teaching position. In addition to her teaching, Dr. Tomasone frequently presents master classes and clinics in the greater Philadelphia area and beyond. In addition to her bachelors from Curtis, she also holds a Masters in Liberal Studies, a Masters in Music from Rowan University and her doctorate from Temple University.
Dr. Tomasone’s performing career has spanned everything from disco to Broadway Theater to a contract with the Philadelphia Orchestra, with which she toured Asia in 1989. She has performed with artists as varied as Luciano Pavarotti, Riccardo Mutti, and Rod Stewart. She is currently Principal Flutist for the Opera Company of Philadelphia, and can also be heard on her solo CD, “Fantasies”.
Performing for Dr. Tomasone will be flutists Laura Burger, Catherine Cai, Hannah Caspar-Johnson, Bo Kim and Morgan Simmons. They will perform music by Handel, Haydn, Poulenc and Telemann.
