Community Totem Pole Dedication Celebration
This summer, the community gathered to create a lasting monument representing the area’s local history and personal stories under the guidance of members from Totem Rhythms, Inc., Darlington Arts Center and Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. Come out and join the Community Totem Pole Dedication Celebration on Saturday, October 1, 11am at Darlington Arts Center. There will be Native Americans in traditional dress performing traditional rituals and a brief ceremony to thank all the volunteers and participants.
Fall Art Invitational Artist Reception
Six professional artists will be participating in Darlington Arts Center’s Fall Art Invitational this October. The special group show will open with an Artist Reception on Saturday, October 1 from 5pm to 7pm. The gifted artists participating in this special group show will be woodcarver Ron Berge, as well as painters: Marie C. Kirkwood, Karl J. Kuerner, Charles Logan, Nicholas P. Santoleri and Paul Scarborough. Meet these talented artists and discuss their inspirations, while enjoying light refreshments and live music (provided by Darlington’s flute teaching artist’s duo: The Meany/Simmons Flute and Classical Guitar Duo)
at the Artist Reception. This unique exhibit will include several original masterpieces from each artist as well as additional prints on exhibit through October 31st, Monday – Friday from 9am until 9pm, and Saturdays from 9am until 4pm.
